Repertoire: The Scarlatti Sonata ESCAPADE No. 7 (K. 466)
Scarlatti's fame rests largely on his reputation as a composer of fast, brilliant pieces full of virtuoso licks and references to Spanish folk music, but he did write a healthy handful of slower sonatas. K. 466 is one of them--music of intensely soulful lyricism whether performed on the harpsichord or the piano. Happily, I have the opportunity to present it to you in both versions.
