Ironsmiths at Bolpur -1 (unedited)

At the end of January 2016 news spread in Santiniketan, Birbhum that a group of travelling ironsmiths (Lohar) had arrived in nearby Bhubandanga, a neighbourhood of Bolpur, and were making tools and selling them by the roadside. A large group of handsome people, some worthy of making it to Bollywood, who said they came from Hampi*, worked together with amazing teamwork and coordination, watched by admiring local people. The group said the iron was from the Indian Railways and thus of good quality. They were selling axe-blades, knives, etc for Rs 200 a kilogram, a good price according to the bystanders. They left after two days taking all the excitement at Bhubandanga with them. *Not true; See Samiran Nandy's footage:    • Gadiya Lohar at Santiniketan  . Perhaps they were returning from Hampi.
