MONTE LAMA, MENEGOSA, GROPPO GORA: Video Trekking da Teruzzi di Morfasso (PC)

Are you familiar with the Stone Knives Mountain? 🔪 I'm within a SCI (Site of Community Importance), aimed at protecting the habitat, flora, and fauna of this area of ​​Morfasso (PC), which includes Monte di Lama, Monte Menegosa, and Groppo di Gora⛰️ Once I arrived in Teruzzi, a hamlet of Morfasso in the province of Piacenza, I left the car🚗 at the cemetery and followed the signs for Oratorio. Following the trail I had prepared, the link to which is at the bottom of this description, I immediately climbed Groppo di Gora, at about 1,300 meters above sea level, characterized by ophiolite rocks.🪨 I then continued towards Monte di Lama, so called because its rock, red jasper, was quarried and used by primitive man to create stone blades🔪 and knives. It's a very hard rock that lends itself to this type of use. From Lama, a steep descent, followed by a flat stretch and then a climb, leads to one of the four peaks of Monte Menegosa, another important ophiolite in the Piacenza Apennines, before descending again towards Teruzzi. This trek is approximately 14 km long with an elevation gain of approximately 850 m.
