Unsecured loads can greatly increase the risk of vehicle instability, leading to load shed and possible rollover. Load safety is about achieving safe load systems, which involve suitable a vehicle, a suitable means of containment, suitable load configuration and a suitable method of load restraint. Participants in the transport chain need to have clear procedures for loading, unloading, and load securing.
