7hz Zero 2 vs Moondrop Chu II vs Tangzu Wan'er 2 vs Truthear Gate | 2nd gen Ultra Budget IEM in 2026

All 4 are fairly "neutral" or "meta" in tuning and frequently compared and recommended for a first IEM. So which one should you pick? We bought all 4 to compare, but definitely don't do that! We'll only be recommending one for most people! Quick review of the most notable differences: The material of the IEM itself is fairly similar for all options, but one option stands out above the rest, the Moondrop Chu II. This is the only option with a full metal shell. Accessories that come with the IEMs are pretty similar but one of the options stands out as well below the rest, the 7hz Zero 2. The cord is clearly the lowest quality in the price range and it lacks a carrying pouch. The Tangzu Wan'er also lacks a carrying pouch in the base version but it does offer one with the Jade Dragon version that I got.
