Pułapka feromonowa na ćmę bukszpanową

The box tree moth is currently the greatest threat to boxwood plants in Poland, and beyond. This pest has begun to damage other plant species as well. This Asian invader develops three generations per year in Poland. The caterpillars are voracious and can completely destroy a decades-old boxwood shrub in a matter of weeks. The box tree moth can be controlled biologically or chemically, but to know when to treat it, you need to know its biology in Poland (research on this topic was conducted by DIONP in collaboration with the University of Rzeszów - a scientific publication is in preparation). The key to successful pest control is constant monitoring of its appearance in the garden. Unfortunately, this must be done from March until November, because during this time the pest is constantly present in the environment (it has three generations per year). Pheromone traps are very helpful in monitoring when the pest (moth) begins to appear in the garden. The more moths in the traps, the greater the likelihood that the plants already contain eggs or hatching caterpillars. We recommend purchasing these pheromone traps for anyone struggling with box tree moths. If you clean them thoroughly after the season, their housings will last for several years. However, you should buy fresh pheromones every year, which will make maintaining these traps cheaper.
