Located on the untouched coastline of Baja California Sur, it offers guests an experience deeply rooted in authenticity, community, and holistic well-being. Opened in February 2021 by visionaries Pablo Carmona and Joshua Kremer, Paradero was created to go beyond conventional hospitality, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the raw beauty and cultural richness of its surroundings. The hotel sits on five acres of pristine land in the agricultural enclave of La Mesa, surrounded by 160 acres of family-owned farmland. This unique setting is defined by five distinct ecosystems: the vast desert with its ancient Cardon cacti, the soaring Sierra La Laguna mountains, wild stretches of Pacific coastline, lush palm-filled oases, and sprawling green fields. It is within this mesmerizing landscape that Paradero has created an experience-driven retreat, where travelers can embrace adventure, connect with nature, and rediscover a slower, more mindful pace of life. The architecture of Paradero Todos Santos plays a central role in its appeal. Designed by renowned architects Ruben Valdez and Yashar Yektajo, the hotel’s structures blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. The design embraces clean, geometric lines that echo sacred Mayan symbols, using local materials like tornillo timber and concrete in earthy hues that blend seamlessly with the desert landscape. Inside, interior designers from B Huber have crafted a warm, inviting atmosphere using handmade furniture and textiles sourced from Mexico’s design capitals, Guadalajara and Oaxaca. Over 20,000 native plants and 80 endemic species have been integrated into the landscape by the firm Polen, creating a lush, living garden that surrounds the property. The 41 suites at Paradero are sanctuaries in themselves. Garden Suites on the ground floor offer private terraces with artisan hammocks or outdoor soaking tubs, perfect for contemplative moments among cacti walls. Sky Suites feature rooftop star nets and panoramic views over the farmland, desert, and mountains. The Master Casita, a three-level suite on a corner lot, is a luxurious home away from home with a kitchen, dining room, private plunge pool, and a rooftop star net for stargazing under the Baja sky. Each space is designed to inspire peace and reflection, offering interiors that flow naturally into the outdoors. Dining at Paradero is a sensory experience like no other, under the direction of Executive Chef Eduardo Rios, who brings experience from Pujol in Mexico City and international influences from Hong Kong. The open-air restaurant serves farm-to-table cuisine that fuses Mexican, Japanese, and French culinary traditions. Ingredients are hyper-local, with many harvested from the on-site garden or surrounding fields. There is no freezer in the kitchen; only seasonal, fresh ingredients are used. Guests can witness tortillas made from heirloom corn roasted in a clay oven or watch meat and fish smoked over a Josper wood-fired oven and hibachi grill. The Pericúe Omakase, a five-course tasting menu, is an especially memorable experience, highlighting the depth and creativity of the culinary team. The wellness offering at Paradero is equally rooted in nature and tradition. The Ojo de Agua Spa, shaded by palms and local flora, draws on ancient rituals and healing practices. Treatments include the Yenekamu Ritual, inspired by the indigenous Pericú people, which combines hot stone therapy and spinal alignment to harmonize energy. The Niparaja y Anajicondi couples massage uses the aphrodisiac damiana herb to strengthen the emotional connection. Traditional Temazcal ceremonies, sound healing sessions, neurosedative massages, and after-sun treatments are available daily. Each is crafted to realign the body and mind while reconnecting with ancestral wisdom. A stay at Paradero is an invitation to return transformed. Every guest enjoys access to a curated selection of included experiences designed to ignite curiosity, challenge comfort zones, and restore the spirit. Surfing lessons on world-class waves at Cerritos or San Pedrito, hiking along the dramatic Pacific bluffs, biking through the surrounding terrain, and practicing guided meditation or yoga are all part of the daily rhythm. Cooking classes teach guests to prepare meals with sustainably sourced ingredients, while farming workshops invite participants to reconnect with the land. There’s even a guided art walk through the colonial town of Todos Santos, renowned for its rich history and artistic vibrancy.
