How much $$$ to fix my antique guitar? Repair estimate on an 120 year old Bauer Parlor

Tempted to start buying antique guitars? Even if they look pretty great in pictures, there is probably a lot more than meets the eye and, unless you can do the repairs yourself (PROPERLY), it may end up costing you dearly. In this video I unbox a new arrival, a Brazilian rosewood parlour guitar from the turn of the century made by The Bauer Company, a well respected outfit of the time and their reputation remains very good among collectors to this day. Luckily, this one has had very little work done to it, and therefor there will be less to undo! Usually bad previous repairs lend themselves to a host of additional problems, and an untouched guitar is actually the ideal state for a luthier to receive a guitar. Bonus points if it’s literally falling apart! Disassembly is a time consuming and risky procedure. As I pour over this gorgeous old guitar I uncover the multifarious and multitudinous repairs that it will require. At first glance, the estimate is fairly modest, but as the details begin to reveal themselves, a darker and more expensive truth comes to light.
