Frank Farrell & His Greenwich Village Inn Orch. - Miss Annabelle Lee, 1927
Frank Farrell & His Greenwich Village Inn Orchestra – Who’s Wonderful, Who’s Marvelous) Miss Annabell Lee, Fox-Trot (Clare-Pollock) with Vocal chorus by Arthur Fields, Harmony 1927 (USA) NOTE: This famous song is one of the musical epitomes of the hot dance style of the late 1920s in the US. Performed by dozens of dance bands around the world during the interwar period, it seems somewhat forgotten today. Perhaps, being such a hot and compelling dance piece, it never became a true jazz standard. This really nice rendition is typical of its time, yet I haven't been able to find out who is behind the name "Frank Farrell." Aside from a brief note I found somewhere that he is a "jazz pianist," there's nothing else online. Perhaps someone of the YouTubers will be able to help, as the arrangement, performance, etc., seem very good. The accompanying slideshow presents a series of vintage photos of truly "wonderful, and marvelous!" Annabelles Lee of the Roaring 1920s.
