A Sacred Trust: Preserving Holy Relics at the Baha'i House of Worship, Sydney

Secured beneath the Baha'i House of Worship in Sydney for more than sixty years were two sacred relics connected to the holiest places of the Baha'i Faith. As part of the Dayspring of Light restoration project, these relics were carefully retrieved and placed into archival care until they can one day be returned to the House of Worship. In this short film, members of the Australian Baha'i community share the remarkable story of how the relics were originally placed within the Temple at its dedication in 1961, their spiritual significance, and the emotional experience of uncovering them once again. The relics include plaster from the prison of Mah-Ku and dust from the Shrine of Baha’u’llah — sacred connections to the origins of the Baha'i Faith and to the beloved Guardian, Shoghi Effendi. The Sydney Baha'i House of Worship stands as a place of prayer, reflection, and unity for all people.
