The city of Puno (Peru, 1996)

Punu (5 of 13) ----------------------- Puno lies on the shores of Lake Titicaca at a hight of 3800 m. The city is populated by colorful indian people. Puno is also the starting point to several trips on the lake to Taquila Island, Amantani and the floating islands of the Uros indians. (see part6 and 7 of the Peru serie). About our trip to Peru (1996) ---------------------------------------------- In 1996 we made a round trip in Peru by public transport. We started in Lima and then to Paracas, Nazca, Arequipa, the Collca canyon, Puno, lake Titicaca, Cuzco (Urubamba valley) and finally 9 days to the Manu national park.
