HYENA - ONE PENCIL, REAL TIME (No Talking)

Today I have for you a real time graphite demo of a hyena portrait. I find hyenas so interesting and strange. They occupy a sort of liminal space in my mind: They have some doglike features but are slightly more closely related to the feliform group, despite definitely not being cats. They are excellent hunters but never opposed to scavenging or thievery. Their skulls and teeth are adapted for crushing bones, so they may consume what other animals discard. The females are larger and more aggressive than the males and are firmly in charge of all family affairs. Odd as hyenas may appear to us, I think it's important to remember they are not so different from our other favorite megafauna like lions and elephants: They live in family groups, led by a matriarchal lineage that secures their homeland territory, they give birth and raise babies (google hyena reproduction at your own risk; it is VERY hardcore). They eat together and sleep together. They hunt together, fight and die together. kinda like us, huh?
