Light transforms the ordinary or even beautiful into the exceptional. I aim to capture these fleeting moments and help people see things again through new eyes. 1. Atmospheric Perspective Defined ○ Objects recede as they become cooler, lighter, and less detailed. ○ Warm colors fade first: yellow, then red, then blue. ○ White objects darken and warm as they recede (e.g., backlit clouds). 2. Zones of Depth ○ Foreground: Strongest color, sharpest edges, highest contrast. ○ Middle Ground: Reduced yellow, softer edges, moderate detail. ○ Background: Cooler hues (violets/blues), lighter values, minimal detail. ○ Sky Transition Zone: Gradations from violet-blue at the zenith to red-violet near the horizon. 3. Edges and Design ○ Hard edges: Use in focal areas to anchor attention. ○ Soft edges: Use in receding forms to suggest atmosphere. ○ Blend transitions between zones to avoid abrupt shifts. 4. Compositional Tools for Depth ○ Layering and overlapping. ○ S‑curve or winding path to lead the eye. ○ Diagonals to energize space. ○ Foreground interest to invite the viewer in. ○ Gradual changes in size and scale.
