Dulong Bamphalar Kper Syntu 1

Bamphalar is a traditional drama festival held every year in Jowai between the months of April and June. During the festival, different localities perform dramas in their respective community halls, known as Iungwalieh. All the participants and actors take part voluntarily and without any payment. In earlier times, musicians performed live music from backstage during the plays, adding to the unique theatrical atmosphere of the festival. The funds collected from ticket sales were traditionally used for the welfare and development of the community.
