SID CAESAR: On the Docks [SPOOF] (CAESAR'S HOUR - VERY rare sketch)
A hilarious sendup of "On the Waterfront", with Sid reprising the Marlon Brando he did so effectively in the much shorter spoof of "Streetcar Named Desire" on YOUR SHOW OF SHOWS. Unfortunately, this version is slightly marred by a droning musical score added to the soundtrack when this sketch was repackaged for reruns on Comedy Central. I don't know why Sid decided to do this (he seemingly had total control over the repackaged reruns)-- it really detracts from the dialogue. But I'm delighted to have a copy of this sketch to see at all, considering that it's NEVER been released to home video. This copy comes courtesy of a fellow Sid Caesar fan from Europe who recorded a couple of hours of the reruns, which haven't been seen on TV for over 25 years. Thank you, Richard! ----------------------------------------------- For more rare material like this, please click here to subscribe to the Sid Caesar channel: / @sidcaesaryourshowofshowsca2250
