If you can hear it, you can play it: Lili Haydn at TEDxOlympicBlvdWomen

Rolling Stone called her music "fiery and virtuosic..." George Clinton called her "the Jimi Hendrix of the violin." Lili Haydn has released four critically acclaimed major label recordings as a solo artist, appeared on numerous TV shows, including the Tonight Show and the HBO hit Californication, toured the world, and collaborated with legendary artists such as Herbie Hancock, Sting, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, the LA Philharmonic, and George Clinton, to name a few. In addition to Lili's extensive recording and touring career, Lili's music has been licensed for TV, film, and commercials. In 2009, Lili began scoring films, earning a fellowship to the Sundance Film Institute Composer's Program, and has ten feature films/documentaries to her credit, including Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, (2011), Somewhere Between (2012) The Sublime and Beautiful (2013) and ANITA by Academy Award winner Freida Lee Mock (2014). Lili will release her 5th studio record, LiliLand in 2014. In her TEDxOlympicBlvdWomen performance, Haydn performs, and explains how her view of life and activism grew from the seed of her mother's advice to her as a child learning to play the violin: "If you can hear it, You can play it! If you can imagine it, you can create it!" About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
