1700s Frontier Breakfast & Fort Build | Chinking Logs at Kelly Station | Fortified Homestead

This week at Kelly Station, history meets hard work and a hearty breakfast. Brian McCrossin makes the trek from New Hampshire to lend a skilled hand fortifying the blockhouse—and proves himself not just a dedicated longhunter enthusiast, but a top-tier camp cook. With coffee brewing and bacon sizzling, Peter gets a rare morning off while Brian takes the reins, serving up both food and frontier wisdom. By day’s end, the blockhouse is nearly complete, and plans are already underway for the next project: a traditional beehive oven built with centuries-old techniques. Peter dives into a mini-masterclass on ancient mortar, from Egyptian pyramids to Roman engineering, all while prepping to use old-world cob for the next build.
