Onride & walkthrough video with VR scenes and exterior shots of the adventure ride “Dr. Archibald - Master of Time Vol. 2" by the showman "Patrick Greier" at the Rheinkirmes 2022 in Düsseldorf. This attraction is a mixture of funfair and ghost train, which is only used with Oculus Rift VR glasses. The railway, which was built in 1971, has changed hands several times in recent years and was called "Mammut-Höhle" until 1994, as "Ghost Temple" between 1995-2013 and as "Ghost Hotel" between 2013-2016. The passenger goes in search of Dr. Archibald, a lost history professor, amateur archaeologist, and inventor. The path leads through a large themed hall with showcases full of books and old equipment, past machines, control panels and monitors on which the history is explained to visitors. Then you take a seat in one of the 32 two-seater chaises and put on the virtual reality glasses, which put the passenger in a realistic-looking animated world. The virtual journey through time begins in primeval times, leads through mysterious Atlantis past various creatures and dragons, through a cyberpunk city with skyscrapers and spaceships to the age of industrialization. During the journey, the film shown interacts with the head movement of the respective passenger and comes up with numerous fire, water and smoke effects that can be admired in a 360-degree all-round view. After the ride, you leave the train through an obstacle course that leads through a mushroom cave with waterfalls and a laser show and spooky sound effects. Then it goes through a large LED tube with striking light and fog effects. Finally you leave the tube simulation and after squeezing through some punching bags you get to the exit. The attraction is an experience for the whole family and is open to children aged six and over. The outer facade of the railway is also really impressive with its successful and varied theming and numerous LED displays.
