Kanta Ando enters The Shoten. Fish and seafood have been an essential part of the Japanese diet from as early as 13,000 B.C. in the Jomon period. Despite the prevalence of meat consumption, fish still remains a regular on the dinner table in most Japanese homes. Featured in this episode, 魚要 (Uoyou) is a fish vendor/restaurant that has served the local community of Akabane for four generations. Located in the Akabane Suzuran Dori Shotengai, it features a vast display of seafood with the shop master often seen behind the counter filleting fresh catches from the day. 紀元前1万3千年の縄文時代から、魚介類は日本人の食生活に欠かせないものだった。現在でも、ほとんどの家庭で肉料理と同じくらい魚料理も食べられている。 今回登場する魚要（うおよう）は、赤羽の地元で4代続く魚屋さん。 赤羽すずらん通り商店街にあり、店内には新鮮な魚介類がずらりと並んでいる。 Login.jp presents: The Shoten, a series where we curate performances by DJs in various local 商店 (Shōten), or stores, across Japan to archive their unique vibes, culture, and the real Japanese experience through music.
