State, Local, and Self: Sustainable Support & Engagement for Natural Helpers Across our Community
Part three of the Natural Helpers Webinar Series explored how a fellowship model can not only elevate Natural Helpers but also sustain them through care, recognition, and long-term support. Together, we look at the vital role of financial stipends, public celebrations, and genuine acknowledgements in valuing participants’ contributions, as well as discussing burnout, imposter syndrome and systems of power can demobilize Natural Helpers. The discussion highlights the importance of mentorship and pathways for continued growth, ensuring that Natural Helpers are empowered and supported not just during the fellowship but well into the future.
