Cómo sellar un portillo o escotilla
Learn how to seal a porthole or hatch on your boat. Seal water leaks on your deck yourself. As you'll see in the video, it's somewhat complex, so you must follow the steps I show you. First, we need to locate the source of the water leak. Once we're sure it's coming in between the porthole and the deck, we proceed to disassemble it. You might find some screws that are welded or seized due to the joining of metals with different properties. Once the inner flange is removed, we go to the outside of the boat and proceed to disassemble it. This is a tricky part, as we have to pry it open with a couple of strong screwdrivers. The porthole is made of aluminum, and we could bend it and render it unusable. Keep in mind that it's very expensive.
