This marked the end of the long and bitter Pacific War, in which Japan and the United States fought a deadly battle in the Pacific. However, in the final days of the war, the military was actually preparing a plan to continue the war in order to gain favorable conditions and bring the battle with the Allied forces to a decisive battle on the Japanese mainland. The decisive battle for the Japanese mainland, which was scheduled to begin around November 1945, did not take place due to Japan's defeat. However, if this battle had actually taken place, the Japanese military, which had suffered repeated defeats, would have had to scrape together what little fighting power and weaponry they had left to fight off the Allied forces.
