Ridgway Pennsylvania in Autumn | A Cozy Small-Town Escape
Ridgway, Pennsylvania is located in Elk County and is home to 3,906 residents. It has been on the National Historic Register since 2003 (often called "Lily of The Valley" for it's Victorian era homes). In the 1880's, it began as a booming area for lumber, tanning, and powder manufacturing. After the early 1900's the timber industry became exhausted, tanning factories moved elsewhere, and powder manufacturing came to a stop. Many beautiful mansions were demolished or subdivided, as many people had to leave and find jobs elsewhere. The poverty level today stands at around 20%. Today it's home to outdoor activity, tourism, and arts. Let's take a look!
