History of the House of David
Archivist and historian David Kohrman traces the development, faith, and business pursuits of the Israelite House of David from their arrival in Benton Harbor (MI) in 1903 to the present day. Highlights include their famed amusement park, traveling baseball teams, fascinating membership, and rare photographs from the colony’s private archive. About the Author: A lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area with an interest in photography and architecture, David Kohrman is a graduate of Western Michigan University and Ball State University. Kohrman holds an MS in Historic Preservation, and is currently a Ph.D. student at Western Michigan University, pursuing a degree in history, and specifically, historic preservation. He is the author of "Images of America: Kalamazoo, Michigan"; "Postcard History Series: Kalamazoo"; "Detroit’s Statler and Book-Cadillac Hotels: The Anchors of Washington Boulevard"; and co-author of "The Gas Boom of East Central Indiana"; all from Arcadia Publishing.
