Chicory and Dandelion Coffee: More Than a Novelty

https://foragerchef.com/chicory-dande... Humans have a very long relationship with dandelions, and have been using the roots and greens as medicine for thousands of years. One of the more interesting uses of the plant is the "coffee" that's made from the roasted roots. While mostly thought of as a drink (and a labor intensive one) my favorite thing to do with the roots is to make the coffee to use as an ingredient in desserts and other dishes, even savory ones. In the video I give a quick breakdown of how to dig the roots, dry them and roast to make coffee, with some examples of how I'll use it at the end. The ice cream recipe (it's incredible) and others are on my website, link at the top of the video description.
