December 2021 Botswana and Namibia part 8, Etosha, Olifantsrus and Dolomite camp.

Our 6 days in Etosha were spread between 3 camps, and here we went west from Oaukuejo to Olifantsrus despite a few people cautioning us about the road. there is nothing wrong with road if your tyres are deflated correctly. Olifantsrus is only camping , and in the dry Mopani bushes and red sand, is completely different to the other camps. It was sad to read that it was originally a culling station, and NO elephants came to the camp or waterhole. the hide is impressive but we only saw a couple of Rhino and Oryx while there. The highlight was a day trip to Dolomite Camp in the hills further west and the serious misuse of their bar, restaurant and swimming pool. We also saw the mountain Zebra and Eland from here. If you ever book Dolomite, ask for unit 13!
