Kirkland Laing v Rocky Kelly 1987 Boxing Laing was totally unfathomable both in and out of the ring. He was a good fighter who had the potential to be a great fighter. His approach was to get in there and see how it goes - that was both his strength and his undoing. Rocky Kelly was, dare I say it, the British Gatti of his day. He didn't have the Gatti skills of course, but he certainly had the heart, rarely taking a backward step... he would give everything he had, there was never a lost cause with Rocky Kelly.
