Ansys Fluent Tutorial for Turbomachinery: Flow Around a Compressor Blade with Periodic Boundaries
In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to set up and simulate flow around a compressor blade using periodic boundary conditions in ANSYS Fluent. The main goal of this video is to clearly show the simulation workflow and setup process, including: Defining periodic boundaries for a blade passage Setting up rotating and stationary zones Applying sliding mesh (mesh motion) Running a transient simulation Connecting interfaces properly between zones Please note that this tutorial focuses on demonstrating the simulation procedure. For high-accuracy results suitable for research or industrial applications, additional steps such as mesh refinement, y⁺ verification, turbulence model validation, time-step sensitivity studies, and convergence analysis are required. Sliding mesh and transient simulation are used to properly capture the physics of the rotating domain. This video is especially helpful for those working on turbomachinery CFD using ANSYS Fluent.
