When Everything Goes Wrong at the Same Time...

Farming isn't always a success story—some days, nature completely takes the upper hand. Today at Sheraton Park Farms, we are dealing with multiple setbacks, unexpected wild visitors, and a serious conversation about what it truly takes to face failure and keep moving forward. We start by evaluating our field corn and sugar cane crops, which have suffered a devastating blow. A flock of crows completely targeted the field, pulling up the young, tender plants by the roots, leaving our production completely spotty and ruined. Chuck hooks up the tractor tiller to rip it all up and prepare the soil for a desperate second planting. But while tilling, the day takes a wild turn when Chuck discovers a massive honey bee swarm clinging to one of our green bean trellises! Saundra quickly jumps into action, gathering the bee boxes and safety equipment to try and capture the swarm—but working with wild bees is unpredictable, and things don't go exactly as planned. After the bee chaos, we work together to get the seed back in the ground, hoping for a better head start. Chuck then shifts over to running the land plane on the tractor to repair our long farm driveway, which was severely rutted and washed out from recent heavy flash flooding. To wrap up this crazy day, Chuck sits down for a raw, honest conversation about failure. From the lost crops to the failed bee capture, first attempts on the homestead often end in disaster. But Chuck breaks down why stopping is never an option, sharing our personal history of persistence through our farm business and our YouTube journey. If you've ever felt like throwing in the towel, this one is for you.
