These are drawn around the winding mandrel using a rubber belt driven by the winding head. The winder may feature a 3-axis motorized table to give ultra-rapid setting up times. The core grows and extends off the winding mandrel and on through a set of opposed knives which cut the core to programmed lengths. The knife movement is synchronised to the core speed, matching the growth of the tube and precisely cutting the core to required lengths. The system uses closed loop servo technology and is extremely accurate.
