Of the 567 Judges polled, although a small percentage of the judiciary across the United States, I believe it fairly represents how most judges adjudicate pro se cases. Most judges are thoughtful, and they make a good faith effort to be fair and ensure that the Pro Se has access to justice. That's the extent of their responsibilities. Overall, Judges expect the Pro Se to file a "merit" lawsuit, and meet all procedural and substantive requirements that a licensed attorney is required to meet.
