This is the ninth main installment for the Call of Duty franchise released on November 13th, 2012. Announced on May 1st, 2012, during the National Basketball Association playoffs, Black Ops II is a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game is also the first Call of Duty game released for Nintendo's Wii U console, and was available during Wii U's launch day in North America, Europe, and Australia, whilst it was released on December 20th, 2012 in Japan, which was twelve days after the console's Japanese launch day, albeit the console received the Japanese dub version simultaneously with the other platforms on the same day. A sequel, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, was released on November 6th, 2015, while a direct sequel to Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, was released in 2025. On April 12th, 2017, Call of Duty: Black Ops II became available on Xbox One via backwards compatibility. (Gameplay - Veteran Difficulty) Synopsis: The story takes place across two separate arcs, one recounting events in 1986-1989, a few years after the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and 18 years after Mason stops Dragovich and Nova 6, and the other following characters in the year 2025.
