I'm relatively flexible, and I've never had any problems with my hands or arms from playing the piano. However, as I've gotten older, I've come to realize that this was just luck. My goal is to keep playing the piano until the day I die, and I've come to realize that proper self-care is important to achieve that. It's been several years since I started doing these stretches, and thanks to them, I've become able to sense subtle changes in my body every day. I encourage you to try playing the piano while practicing self-care. However, if you experience pain or discomfort, please consult a doctor, a physical specialist. I have no medical knowledge; I simply choose what feels comfortable to me. Keep this in mind and continue enjoying the piano for many years to come.
