Lc 10, 25-37 “Maestro, ¿qué debo hacer para conseguir la vida eterna?”

At that time, a lawyer stood before Jesus to test him and asked, "Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus asked, "What is written in the Law? What do you read in it?" The lawyer replied, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your being, and your neighbor as yourself." Jesus said to him, "You have answered correctly; if you do this, you will live." The lawyer, to justify himself, asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" Jesus said to him, "A man was going down the road from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell among robbers, who robbed him, wounded him, and left him half dead. Now a priest was going down the same road; he saw him and passed by on the other side. In the same way, a Levite, as he traveled, saw him and passed by on his way. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, saw him and took pity on him. He went to him, anointed his wounds with oil and wine, and bandaged them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said, 'Take care of him, and whatever extra you spend, I will repay you when I come back.' Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by robbers?" The lawyer answered him, "The one who had compassion on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do you the same."
