China's Ancient Villages - Hongcun & Xidi 宏村 西递

Hongcun (宏村) and Xidi (西递) are two of China's most celebrated historic villages and were jointly designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. Located in southern Anhui Province, both villages trace their origins to the Song Dynasty and flourished during the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. They are renowned for their exceptionally preserved Hui-style architecture, characterized by whitewashed walls, black-tiled roofs, elegant courtyards, and exquisite wood, brick, and stone carvings. Set amid rolling hills and waterways, the villages provide a remarkably authentic glimpse into the social, cultural, and commercial life of rural China in imperial times, making them among the country's most picturesque and historically significant destinations. We also stopped briefly at Tachuan (塔川), but pouring rain and the lack of autumn foliage meant we missed the views the village is best known for. 0:00 Hongcun 宏村 3:03 Tachuan 塔川 3:54 Xidi 西递 Photos and videos: iPhone 17 Pro Music: 独孤音乐Dugu Music @DuGuMusicCYR 大提琴+長笛+吉他带您走进19個世界最唯美東方意境雨季竹林 | 最美療癒天籟之音 | 19 world's most beautiful rainy season bamboo forests    • 大提琴+長笛+吉他带您走进19個世界最唯美東方意境雨季竹林 | 最美療癒天籟之音 |...   Movie editor: iMovie
