Cell Membrane || The Fundamental Unit of Life - 2 || for Class 9 in Hindi

In this Science (Biology) video in Hindi for class 9th we explained the structure and function of cell membrane in animal and plant cells. This is a topic from Chapter 5 - 'The fundamental unit of life' of science from NCERT. The cell membrane is the protective shield for cell. It is the outermost layer for animal cells and for plant a cell there is another layer outside the cell membrane known as cell wall. This cell membrane is composed, mainly, of phospholipid molecules which have a phosphate head and two lipid tails. These heads are hydrophilic and the tails are hydrophobic. So, they arrange themselves in two layers having the head parts facing the water ends, both inside and outside of the cell. The cell membrane is a semi-permeable membrane, also known as selectively permeable membrane. It is called so, because, this cell membrane allows some molecules, like, oxygen, carbon dioxide, water etc. to pass through it, but, it prevents larger molecules from passing through.
