[2 Samuel 22:36-51] 36 You have given me the shield of your salvation; your gentleness has made me great. 37 You have broadened my steps and made my feet not slip. 38 I pursued my enemies and destroyed them; I did not turn back until I had defeated them. 39 I defeated them and annihilated them; they lay prostrate at my feet and could not rise again. 40 You have girded me with strength to wage war, and made me subdue those who rise up against me. 41 You have also turned the backs of my enemies toward me and made me cut off those who hate me. 42 They sought help, but there was no one to save them; they cried out to the LORD, but he did not answer. 43 I crushed them like the dust of the earth and trampled them like the mud of the streets. 44 You have also delivered me from the strife of my people and me He has preserved me and made me preeminent among all nations; a people I do not know will serve me. 45 The Gentiles bow down to me; they hear my report with their ears and submit to me. 46 The Gentiles will be weak and tremble as they come out of their strongholds. 47 I will praise my Rock, for the life of the LORD, and exalt God, the Rock of my salvation. 48 This God will take vengeance for me and make the nations submit to me. 49 He will bring me out from my enemies; He will exalt me ​​above those who oppose me and deliver me from the violent. 50 Therefore, O LORD, I will give thanks to You among all nations and praise Your name. 51 The LORD gives great salvation to His King and shows mercy to His anointed, to David and his descendants forever.
