So, on a gut feeling, I decided to head over to Glemsford Pit 2. It’s on the London Anglers Ass ticket, which is silly cheap. So many venues for about £65 all in, 3 rods and nights. The weather was all over the place. High of 14c, low of 4c. Wind, gusts of 35mph, with rain, followed by no wind and the odd shower. Before I headed over, I spoke to John Weddup, the bailiff, who does a brilliant job. He suggested no one fishes it this time of year, and I’m probably a month early. As always, I was cautiously optimistic, but I’m always optimistic haha. I was realistically targeting one bite. That bite came an hour after casting out. Although it was tough going, mostly weather related, I managed a few fish. I had intended on doing 48 hours, but with the weather so rubbish, I headed home early. Satisfied with what I had. I saw tench and carp but didn’t manage to snare either. Glemsford 2 is a small intimate water, off-grid, and you’ll mostly have the place to yourself.
