Why we haven't stopped climate change -- and what to do now | Jamie Alexander | TEDxBerlinSalon

There's a glaring conflict of interest at the center of our mainstream approach to solving climate change; one that constrains even the organizations that say they're leading on the issue. Resolving this conflict could open the floodgates to bolder and more equitable action, argues Jamie Alexander in this hard-hitting talk. Drawing on her work inside global climate nonprofits and corporations, she provides an insider's look at a system that has the power to help the world solve this problem, or be complicit in its continued destruction. Jamie Alexander's work focuses on bridging the labor, business, and environmental communities in support of major wins for a livable future. She is also an advisor to companies and investors on the role of "growth" in the era of climate change and how the tools of capitalism can be used to address this challenge. Previously, Jamie founded Drawdown Labs at Project Drawdown which helped to push the boundaries of corporate climate action. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
