It is the highest point of the ridge and the state of West Bengal, India. Four of the five highest peaks in the world, Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu can be seen from its summit. It also affords a pristine view of the entire Kangchenjunga Range. Trek to Sandakphu starts from the picturesque village of Dhotrey , a village near Darjeeling. Spanned across 5 days, the trek gives you the magnificient and best views of Kanchejunga ranges. The trek offers august views of the Kanchenjunga and Makalu ranges along with a picturesque view of the Everest and Annapurna family. And the best thing about the trek is that, the view of the ranges stays with the trekker throughout the trek. The trail from Sandakphu to Phalut is a long 21 km but is full of twists and turns. You cross through rocky and muddy paths, you will go through a trail of forest and you will also see the vast meadows under clear sky. The landscape keeps changing. And the best is the view of Kanchenjunga from the green meadows. The day is a long one and is packed with every delight a trek has to offer. This trek has trekker’s hut and home-stays throughout with very warm and hospitable people. They will go all out to make your stay comfortable. So there is no need to carry tents and ration.
