Alte Fußpfette stabilisieren:💪 Massive Dachstuhl-Rettung bei 40°C im Altbau | #23
Greetings from the sweltering Wilstermarsch! In this episode, we're literally burning up the place, because we're stuck in the middle of a heatwave in the attic of our little house from 1900! Together with our (favorite) carpenter Stephan, we're tackling a real structural monster: A massive, 6-meter-long plank has to be attached to the wall plate, which has been twisted completely over the decades, to stabilize the entire roof and prepare for the bay window opening. It's going to be cramped, dusty, and incredibly strenuous – and we even have a minor accident! Between chainsaw use, rafter anchors, and specially twisted ring shank nails, we're sweating buckets. As if that weren't enough, we make an eerie discovery right above our heads: Two enormous, artfully crafted wasp nests are hanging directly over the construction crew! 🐝 Down in the garden, things get creative: Mirijam is building an ingenious, flame-treated doorbell panel from an old wooden board, complete with a smart wireless doorbell for our future entrance area—all without a concrete foundation, and with a handy life hack for the recycling bags! 😉 Will it hold up? 💬 QUESTION FOR THE COMMUNITY: Take a look at the wasp nests at 13:53! What kind of wasps are they exactly? And more importantly: Would you have left the peaceful bunch up there or had the nest removed immediately? Let us know in the comments! 👇 Grab a coffee, give us a thumbs up, and enjoy the video!
