The White Giant RAW - Skiing the steepest line on the highest peak in the Lyngen Alps

05.05.2022 at 02.55AM, Finn Hovem, Jacob Wester, Vetle Sevild, Sigurd Pedersen and I found ourselves on top of Jiehkkevarri, with the intention on skiing the Arctic Brenva Face( Southface of Jiehkkevarri). After looking into the southface I could feel my stomach cry for help. I was as nervous as I have never been, but luckily Finn was there, taking control over the situation and digging out the drop in while I was belaying him. After walking up during the night and digging out the entry with the rope, we were finally ready to drop in. As we waited for the sun to come around, we talked a lot about the descent and kept on bringing positive vibes to the conversation. As Finn dropped in and releasing several slabs, I started to wonder if this was the right decision.
