Born and raised at Adventure World in Wakayama, Japan, Rauhin and her daughters Touhin and Yuihin are now living at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China, where each plays an important role in giant panda conservation and breeding research. In this documentary, we observe the daily lives of this mother and her daughters from an educational perspective, exploring the behavior and ecology of giant pandas. Feeding, resting, moving, and responding to their surroundings may appear to be ordinary activities, but each behavior provides valuable scientific insights into their health, environmental adaptation, and natural instincts as a wild species. Rauhin is well known for her long-standing contribution to giant panda breeding. Now that her daughters have reached adulthood, each lives in a different environment suited to her stage of life. Although they no longer live together, this reflects the giant panda's natural behavior in the wild, where adult pandas lead solitary lives. Studying these individual behavioral differences is an important part of conservation science. At the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, researchers are engaged in much more than breeding programs. Their work includes maintaining genetic diversity, monitoring health, preventing disease, improving animal welfare and captive habitats, and advancing scientific research that may contribute to future reintroduction efforts in the wild. Even after returning to China, giant pandas born in Japan continue to play an essential role in international conservation cooperation.
