Angklung Gumati Nusantara (AngGuN) Hari Ibu - Kasih Ibu at Museum Bahari

Angklung is one of Indonesia's cultural heritages which has become world famous and some have been recorded by UNESCO as a traditional Indonesian musical instrument from West Java whose name has become internationally famous. Angklung is made from bamboo blades arranged in such a way that when vibrated or shaken it produces a distinctive sound. To get a harmonious tones and chords, angklung must be played by many people. Because one angklung only represents one note. Angklung Gumati Nusantara (AngGuN) was formed on October 7, 2021, initiated by 5 people who have experience playing angklung since 2015 and have toured angklung performances domestically and internationally. The founders of AngGuN are: Ms. Gianti Sastrawinata, Ms. Rena Lubron, Ms. Mira Sihhati, Ms. Unty Wieland, Mr. Bambang Agustomo. Our vision and mission: Preserving and developing the art of angklung in Indonesia so that it becomes better known both in Indonesia and internationally. Apart from that, playing angklung can maintain health, train the brain, reflex movements and prevent dementia. We started with 20 members in 2021 and grow to 60 members currently. Our members come from various levels of society and most of them are seniors and from various angklung groups, choirs, line dance, fashion and so on. During our performances, apart from angklung, we also include dancing in the performances. In the past year we have performed 17 times at various invitations, both from the Government, Parliament, religious events such as Eid, Christmas, Independence Day as well as private events in malls and others. Collaborating to help social activities including with YKAI, WIC, etc.
