We had recently sold our 36 ft Motorhome and was looking for a camper that was a little smaller and something we could haul with our Yukon XL. Finding one seemed to be easy or so we thought because we looked at a lot of ugly ducklings for premium prices. On a trip to Lebanon to look at a camper which turned out to be a dud, we stopped at Blue Compass RV in Lebanon and looked around. The guy there was helpful, but we didn't see anything we liked. A few days later we decided to go out again and stopped at several RV lots in Nashville. After looking in Nashville we stopped at Blue Compass RV and looked around again. The salesman asked us our budget and put us into a brand new one which we thought was nice. It was not the wow factor one, but it was nice. We put a $500 deposit on it and went home and thought about it. My wife said while the camper was nice it just wasn't the one she wanted. We went there the next day and told them we wanted to look at other campers we didn't want that one. The tried putting us in another new one but it was too heavy for our Yukon. I said we will look around a little more until we find something we like. If we do, we will come back for our deposit. So, after looking at a few more campers, we went home. I turned my computer on and right on their website at their Bowling Green store was the exact camper we told them we were looking for. I called and told them they had the one we wanted the whole time so why didn't they tell us about it. They said you don't want a used camper; they are nothing but trouble. No, they didn't want to sell us a used camper because they evidently don't make as much money on a used one. I told them we wanted that one or I was going to get my deposit back and buy it from the Bowling Green store. They said it would take a few days to get it ready, and they would call with a day and time. A couple of days later they called and set up a time for us to come and sign the papers and take it home. When we got to the lot, we all went out and looked at the camper. I noticed a lot of problems that needed to be fixed even though they said they went over the camper and checked it out. They didn't do hardly anything to the camper by the looks of all the stuff that was wrong with it. I even made them hook the water up so I could test it because I didnt want to take their word when they said they tested everything So, they shuffled us inside to do the paperwork and close the deal. These people are a real piece of work and argued with me about getting extra insurance for the camper which I refused 4 times. They tried to bully me into getting the insurance by using scare tactics. They even got mad because I wouldn't fall for, their hard sell pushy sales tactics. They had no idea that I used to be a car salesman and knew all the tricks, besides I could fix the stuff myself. I finally had to flat out tell them to finish the paperwork because I don't want their overpriced insurance. (It would have tacked another $75 on my monthly payment). We spent 4 hours there because they had to fix stuff that should have been fixed before we even got there. These people are very sloppy and their customer service sucks. They were semi nice until I turned down the insurance and wanted the stuff fixed that was broke. They fixed the stuff I pointed out but was not happy about it I would give them a ** star review because they are phony and only worry about the quick buck.
