"Why Are LED Headlights Legal?" is a sentiment I see on the internet more and more often. The LED headlight trend is becoming more popular, but in this message to auto manufacturers Steve talks about how particular headlight designs are just too bright. Bright headlights have always been an issue, and always will be unless we end up in a dystopian world of boring mandatory sameness. With this information, hopefully car manufacturers will improve their designs, and LED headlights don't end up blamed for a problem they aren't truly responsible for. The bright headlights meme at the beginning of the video reads: "Why the [flip] are LED headlights legal? I'm glad you can see into the future with your bright [...] neon blue headlights but I'm about to fly off the road!" In this video, Steve comes to the defense of LED lighting, since LEDs themselves are not responsible for the bright light issues people encounter on the road at night. While the humble halogen/incandescent headlight bulb may have the most central light source within a conical reflector, aftermarket replacement LEDs have gotten quite close to the center, and also don't necessarily cause an issue, either.
