The Massey Ferguson Wasn't Listed in His Father's Auction — He Found Out Why After the Sale

A farmer in his late 60s is settling his recently deceased father's estate. Everything on the farm is being sold — land, buildings, livestock, equipment. But when the auction company sends the equipment list to the family for approval, the farmer notices that one tractor is missing from it. His two sisters assume it was an oversight. He knows it wasn't. His father had quietly, deliberately, left instructions that the Massey Ferguson was not to be auctioned. It had to go to him specifically. The story follows the farmer as he tries to understand why his father made that decision — and eventually discovers the history behind the machine that his father never told him while he was alive.
