I had already visited Egmulai 10 years ago and had an agricultural interview experience there, so I was so happy to see that village again. This time, Egmulai presented a green landscape. I had seen mostly maize and yam there. Because it is a dry area. But this time, I was able to see various crops such as papaya, beans, yam, cotton, small onions, and groundnuts. I am happy that the rains last year have paid off. We were waiting at Egumalai, Arun said, come near the Coimbatore Bakery. We also went there. He said, let's go to the mountain immediately, and he took us to the idli shop there, saying that we must definitely eat. Since it was a village shop, we liked the taste. Then we went to Allama Naikkanpatti village, 4 km away from there. A few km away from there, cows were confined in a thorny pen at the foot of the mountain. The sound of the bronze bell tied around the neck of the native cows was like bringing us to a whole new world. Before we could understand that language, Mr. Varadharajan arrived there first. We first interviewed him. He shared with us about herding cows in the mountains and the beliefs they traditionally follow. Next, Mr. Subbaiah arrived there. He said that he started with 50 cows and now has more than 75 cows, surpassing his previous generation, and that he also herds cows with his relative, Mr. Varadharajan, who is also a cowherd in this area.
