Welcome to Shimokitazawa, Tokyo's most hipster neighborhood! It is known for its many thrift and vintage stores, used music shops, and unique foods (like adorable Totoro cream puffs!). In this vlog we're showing you some of Shimokitazawa's most loved food spots, going thrifting in some of Tokyo's best secondhand shops (also known as recycle stores here), and enjoying the scenery around the neighborhood and local parks! Visit Shiro-Hige's cream puff factory for adorable Studio Ghibli inspired Totoro cream puffs! 2. Eat at Magic Spice, known for an extremely spicy curry dish they only make 5 servings of a day! (& some good atmosphere!) 3. Get some adorable latte art at Balon D'Essai Latte & Art 4. Thrifting at New York Joe Exchange, which was built into an old bath house! 5. Second hand shopping at Flamingo (Shimokitazawa location) which specialized in American clothing from the 1940's to 1980's. 6. Check out Toyo Department Store which has over 20 of Tokyo's unique recycle shops! 7. Thrift in Haight and Ashbury which has clothes dating back to the 1800's! 9. Browse at Stick Out, a flat-rate thrift store! 10. Poke around Flash Disc Ranch for some old vinyl records! 11. Check out the many secondhand instrument stores (in our video we feature Sekando Sutorito Gakkikan) 12. For a vinyl store with more modern music, visit Jet Set! 13. Stroll around Hanegi Park, which is known as a secret spot for viewing Japan's cherry blossoms during their sakura season (or for us, fall foliage!)
