Jamie Tartt || Family Line

Someone who loved you wouldn't do this Yes, this is my second Jamie Tartt video on this theme... but I'm really proud of it! I could talk for hours about Jamie's character progression and development, and how much I hated the "he's your father, you should forgive him and have him in your life" message... Not everyone can be redeemed or forgiven, and no one should have to reconcile with their abuser! My headcanon is that Jamie met with his father that 1 time we saw, was able to tell him everything he'd ever held back, they parted peacefully and now Jamie can move on with his life free from any lingering shadow of his father! I have a lot of strong feelings about Jamie and about this show in general! Two quick disclaimers about the lyrics in this song and my interpretation - 1. "My father never talked a lot" and I mean... yeah, we wish... but in the context of the song it's a necessary line and 2. the lines about lies from his mother's side - I do not mean that negatively, I mean that as in Georgie had to tell a million lies to survive, lies like telling little Jamie everything was okay, that there was nothing to worry about, Mummy's not sad etc... and it's those kinds of lies Jamie finds himself telling when he also pretends everything's fine when it isn't!
